Fime release video for "Hover Hand," new EP out 7/20

Fime deliver a powerful dose of hook-heavy power pop on their latest single, "Hover Hand." Taken from their forthcoming EP, Outside, the four-piece project a cheeky, outsider vibe in how they explore themes of fleeting hope and isolation. But Fime are not ones to mope, and much akin to some classic alt-rock bands from their home state, their urgent, yet playful melodicism sounds slick even when the edges are slightly frayed. Shot in Super 8 film, the music video for the track shows candid footage of the band members roaming around some local places of interest you might recognize.

Fime are holding a EP release show for Outside at Rudy's Barbershop on July 21. Watch the video for "Hover Hand" below. Juan Rodríguez

Jenn Champion shares raw and relentless new single, "Coming for You"

Jenn Champion's “Coming For You” has everything you’d ever want in a single - good friends, testimonial lyrics, visual captivating sequences, and aesthetically pleasing artwork. For five months, she worked with co-producer Brian Fennell (of SYNL) to create the synthesized masterpiece that was originally supposed to be a rock album, according to Champion. A lyrical genius, a statement I don’t throw around too often, but it adequately describes Jenn Champion and “Coming For You:” “tell me about the lines you fell for and tell me how they always break your heart.” Captivating, refreshing, soothing, jamming, ruthless, raw and relentless, Champion’s artistic capabilities are far past the point of no return.

Single Rider, Champion’s forthcoming album, will be released this Friday, July 13. She will be performing at the Bootleg Theater on August 16 at 8:30, so throw some glitter on your face and show some support for this powerhouse. Kayla Hay

Memory Bells change their course on new single "Day at a Time"

A little patience always comes a long way. It's not the most novel mantra for a song, but sometimes it's about how much conviction you put into it. And in the case of indie rock quartet Memory Bells, formerly known as Watch for Horses, they take that confidence to towering heights with an open-hearted embrace. Sporting an infectious jangle hook, their latest single, "Day at a Time," reaches anthemic territory with a tuneful, richly melodic sound. But the band keep it simple, opting to level its passionate chorus without succumbing into any cloying, heart-on-sleeve trappings.

Memory Bells plan to release a series of singles, leading up to the release of their debut EP later this summer. Catch them at The Slidebar Rock N Roll Kitchen on July 10. Juan Rodríguez
