Wooden Rings @ Burlington

Wooden Rings don't try to disguise or be coy about their sound. They play acoustic chamber pop and they play it well. The quartet released a self-titled album last month, and recently performed for Lightbox Sessions.

You can catch Wooden Rings with Wells-next-to-the-sea and Cottage Jefferson at The Burlington on July 26th.

Death By Icon

Death By Icon is the work of Jebediah Percival and Mike Kinowski. This duo trades off throwing fast and tight rymes over off-kilter and experimental beats. Their self-titled debut album was self-released back in May, and is one of those never lets up or allows you to get your footing. These two are a great addition to the booming hip hop scene in Chicago.

Taught Abroad @ Empty Bottle

Taught Abroad is the alias of local musician Chris Sadek. Under that name he released a self-titled ep earlier this year. He music is beautifully produced, downtempo, but interestingly lo-fi.
