Unicycle Loves You

Unicycle Loves You announces fourth album "The Dead Age" + plays Cake Shop on 04.17

Brooklyn via Chicago trio Unicycle Loves You enjoys toying around with oodles of distorted guitars and vocals as if they were the next The Jesus & Mary Chain - and maybe they are! Their approach is definitely more garagey and upbeat, but the musical concept is not too dissimilar from the one the Reid brothers successfully proselytized in the late 80s: conceal great pop songs under several layers of droney, grating guitar sounds and feedback. Check out preview single "Falling Off' from the band's upcoming fourth album "The Dead Age" (scheduled for a June release) and see them live at Cake Shop on April 17 with Steel Phantoms, High Waisted, and D.A. Stern & The Sanctuaries.

Well tempered NYC lo fi: Unicycle Loves You plays Rock Shop on 8.24

Unicycle Loves You  - per the lyrics of their song “Wow Wave Cinema,” streaming below - claims nothing new, just a new name. At least they’re being honest? We think they actually stand out in the crowd. Hailing from the Indie epicenter of Brooklyn, the former Chicago residents tackle the noise pop genre with catchy rhythms and instrumentals that are both grating yet well-tempered. They recently completed their third LP titled "Failure" which they will give out for free (your choice of vinyl or CD with download card) at their upcoming show this Saturday 8/24 at The Rock Shop. – Michael Haskoor (@Tweetskoor)

Notwithstanding the cost of... everything in NYC is stunningly high, one of the most broke demographic on the planet doesn't seem able to resist Brooklyn's charm. Yes we are talking about indie musicians. The band has released 3 albums while in their home town, and are readying their NYC debut - they'll be debuting songs from it at their upcoming show at The Knitting Factory on 06.27.
