No Men

No Men bring noise punk to Hideout 08.11

Chicago’s noise punk band No Men will be bringing their ferocious sound to The Hideout on August 11th. The band’s badass name is reflective of their daring style, especially on their track “Hell Is Real” off of Dear God, Bring The Doom from 2016. The track’s threatening lyrics are delivered in rant style over a quick punkish intro. Spoken female vocals kick into a surprisingly catchy chorus, but that doesn’t last long; the noise rock side erupts, as the guitars and drums lose complete control, a really cool blend of going from catchy to ballistic; check out their rowdy single below, as well as their upcoming performance. – Pearse Devlin

Keeps Contributes to Benefit Compilation Album to Fund the ACLU

Nothing produces high quality music quite like activism. Nashville psych rockers, Keeps, contributed to a compilation album released by Knoxville based label, Gezellig Records, from which all proceeds go to benefit the American Civil Liberties Union. Its roster contains a wide variety of artists, including indie favorites like Surfer Blood, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and Mount Eerie, all coming together in support of an increasingly relevant and important organization. You can download the album on bandcamp or buy it straight from the Gezellig Records site and feel really good about it. - Andrew Strader
